Training and consulting within the Holzer Leadership and Innovation Institute is delivered by a diverse group of professionals; Nurses, OD Specialists, EQ coaches and Six Sigma Green Belts and Black Belts.  We can offer training on a variety of classes, from Communication and Conflict Resolution to Wellness and Process Improvement.  Our professionals will customize your training to meet the needs of your team, both large and small.  We provide leadership development opportunities for new and experienced leaders and are happy to plan and customize a teambuilding event for your organization.

Meet Our Trainers

GAIL GAMES 

Gail Games is the VP, Chief Learning & Development Officer for Holzer Health System.  Gail began her career in healthcare over 30 years ago and has been a leader for over 25 years.  She has extensive experience in operations from three health systems and landed in training and OD in 2009.  Gail joined Holzer in 2017 and promptly started creating classes and training within the Holzer Leadership and Innovation Institute.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from Indiana University, is a certified Emotional Intelligence coach, LEAN Sigma Black Belt and a recent Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

 

JASON WEAVER 

Wm. Jason Weaver is the Manager of Clinical Education for Holzer Health System.  He has worked in pre-hospital setting for over 29 years and in a hospital setting for over 20 years. Jason’s experience includes direct patient care and training those that provide direct care. Jason has been with Holzer for over 13 years.  He holds an Applied Associates Degree and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration.  Jason is the American Heart Association and American Red Cross Training Center Coordinator, as well as certified to teach courses for AHA, American Red Cross, NAMET and Crisis Prevention.

 

CARRIE GAY 

Carrie is part of our clinical nurse educator team. She started at Holzer in the summer of 2006 as a laboratory employee. She then attended nursing school and holds and associates degree from the University of Rio Grande. Carrie has worked as a nurse in various departments throughout the system since 2011 with much of her experience being in post-acute or ambulatory care.

 

JESSICA HALE 

Jessica is a 21-year veteran of Holzer Health System.  She began her career as a phlebotomist, moving into the ambulatory division as a Certified Medical Assistant and is now a Training & Organizational Development Specialist.  Jessica is currently working to complete her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Healthcare Administration.  She is a certified DiSC instructor, Emotional Intelligence coach and Lean Sigma Green Belt.

  

SARA LOWRY 

Sara Lowry is one of our Training and Organizational Development Specialists with over nine years of healthcare experience. She started her career in Post-Acute Care at Holzer in 2013. Sara has a degree and background in Social Services from the University of Rio Grande, is a certified Emotional Intelligence Coach, Lean Six Sigma Green belt, and has experience as a Learning Management System administrator. She has created and trained several topics including Empathy focused Customer Service, team building and development, and Company Culture.

EMILEE McFANN 

Emilee McFann is the Clinical Nurse Educator for Acute, Ambulatory and Emergency services at Holzer Health System. Emilee is a registered nurse and obtained her bachelor’s degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. She has been a nurse for 10 years with experience in many arenas including Med Surg and Pediatrics but primarily Emergency Medicine. Emilee is also a member of the Ohio Nurses Association and serves as the Primary Nurse Planner for Holzer Health Systems continuing nursing education. Additionally, she has operated as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner for the last 6 years, providing Forensic Nursing services to Southern Ohio.

  

CHARLOTTE NORVELL

Charlotte R. Norvell is a Training and Organizational Development Specialist for Holzer Health System. She has worked in healthcare for over 29 years with over 22 years in training and development. Charlotte holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Rio Grande, is a LEAN Sigma Green Belt, certified Training Generalist, certified Emotional Intelligence coach, a certified Breath Alcohol Technician and trainer, certified Non-Violent Crisis Intervention instructor, Basic Life Support certified instructor, as well as being certified in Microsoft Office Excel. 

 

BEN SMITH

Benjamin Smith is a Training and Organizational Development Specialist for Holzer Health System. Ben has 5 years of experience in the Training and Organizational Development field. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Franklin University. Ben is certified as a LEAN Sigma Green Belt, American Red Cross and AHA certified trainer.  He also teaches Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Crucial Accountability, is a certified Emotional Intelligence Coach and a Healthcare Environmental Services Technician trainer.
